I miss having the ability to stop in and say hi to Ryan and crew at AC after visiting my folks. Great company!

Yes. Ryan is very pleasant and who I deal with since the untimely passing of Frank Gow (may he RIP).

Glenn,
What happened to your 8950?

It must have been "dropped" at some point during shipping. The screws holding it on the shipping base-plate were bent. Some sort of internal short resulted in the power transformer getting too hot to touch after about 2hr and it going into thermal shutdown. Would run fine until overheating.
At Audio Classics, no fuss, no mess. Ryan took my old 8950 out of the car, opened up a new one and put it on the bench for an hour to insure all was well, then loaded into my car and I was on my way. Audio Classics provides the type of service Ivan is famous for. Can't be beat.
The only downside (if there is one) is the week of breaking-in the new one. It is doing much better after a couple of days of 24/7 play. Think the bass is 'about there'.

Did you purchase the damaged 8950 from Audio Classics? I have never bought any equipment from them but have acquired about a trade a few times. I did buy an LED setup for my C2200 years ago. Ryan is a class act.

Yes. Purchased from Ryan at AC. Here's my MA8950 in its 48th hour, streaming Arthur Rubinstein playing Chopin's Nocturnes. Beautiful presentation, both aurally and visually.
Strange - when I load the file straight up it is tipped 90 degrees to the left. When I tip the file 90 degrees to the right it loads it that way. Whatever...............

Edit - Jim fixed for me in the following post.

I had a 8900 a few years ago - a very nice integrated amp. Your downsizing should not suffer much in SQ Glenn. Looks very nice and I do like that RS150 server/streamer.

Glenn, thanks for the great thread w/ those informative photos. I purchased my C-22 MKV from Audio Classics. Hats off to Derek for patiently answering my many question, providing excellent answers, and for his and AC's stellar customer service.

BTW, I'm extremely happy with the C-22 which isn't even close to breaking in yet.
