Can't really say how big the market will be for a desktop system at that price. I heard these in a small room setup and they were without a doubt amazing. Unfortunately, trying to compare this little system to the 3.7's is bordering on ridiculous. I appreciate the reviewers over the top passion for the minis but I think he went over the cliff with the 3.7 comparison. No way in hell that they're even close.

I agree 100% i have heard them and of course the 3.7's and while the Magnepan Mini Maggie Loudspeaker System sounds great.....it does not sound as good as the 3.7's and does not image as well.......welcome to AA Magnut!

Welcome Magnut, there are quite a few 'pan fans here, great to see another.

+1 on your thoughts, the mini's are amazing for their size and probably should sell well but also still need good electronics to drive them to potential. While they remind you of the sound of the 3.7s they are not really as deeply satisfying. Look forward to more posts.

Graham

Thanks for the welcomes. I've been "lurking" for sometime. I guess I jumped in head first. I guess the reviewer was making the point that in a very small room you can get the same kind of sound you would get with the 3.7. Ok, understandable. But when you go to the bigger room just the sheeer size of the panels will tell you the little ones can't keep up.
I'll have to go back and check on my equipment line. It didn't show up. I'm all Maggies and soon to be ordering the 20.7's but that's a story for a different thread.

magnut,

A big welcome! I am blown away by my 3.7's. Keep us posted on what you are up to with your system.

These speakers are for the guy who loves Maggies but his war department won't allow them in the house. He'll buy them for the office and enjoy.
