Default Conrad Johnson and Loudspeakers

Hello Conrad Johnson Owners,
I have in my 30-year career as an audiophile listeners much to speakers experimenting. It was always so interesting different manufacturers use the speakers to listen.Because I would have long possessed the brand Conrad Johnson interested to know what all the members in their CJ speaker has time and have had some experience ...

P.S.:It does not matter whether it is vintage speakers or the latest Reference Speakers are...

Best Greets Sounding Chris

Hi hatzudokiseizo

I've used the CJ pair I have (et3se and et250s) with only two pairs of speakers:

Rebuilt Dahlquist DQ10s: I've had these for 30 years and they have never sounded better than with the CJ equipment: magical midrange and soundstaging, tame high end (these old speakers can be very bright), and decent bass. In summary, the CJ gear made these vintage speakers very listenable without (much) fatigue.

Wilson Sophia 3: lovely midrange and soundstaging, very dynamic, great bass (though still breaking in) with room lock and no listening fatigue. Not only is there more detail in the music than with the vintage DQ10 speaker, but the details are all properly sorted into the soundstage and you can easily hear the acoustic space around those details.

Hello Puma Cat,

What about the bass at 35 Hz? The Dynaudios have only 88dB SPL, is not very much but at 70 tube watts? Can not imagine right of the dynamics here, or am I mistaken? Greets Chris

Wouldnt you also want to disclose and discuss the size and nature of your listening room? I think you should be most interested in members whose rooms are close in size to yours so you are comparing apples to apples. What size is your listening room??

Funny you should mention the ESLs as I was looking at them online with my beady eye and wondering....
