Wilson Sophia 3 vs Sasha W/P

My room is about 14' wide, 17' deep. Wondering if Sasha is too big for my room, or if I would note the benefits.

I've heard both at my dealer but would like some guidance. I can afford either at this point in time, so I'm seeking opinions of those who know both of these.

I can do Sophia 3 & maybe upgrade to monoblocks, or just upgrade to Sasha. I am using a 300wpc amp (rated for a 4-ohm load).

Would you say Sasha gives you "more" of the Sophia sound, or are they entirely different?

The Sophia 3 got a great review in TAS recently but I would always go with the better speaker. IMO your room is plenty big. The Sasha is the trademark of the Wilson line. It will always give you the best trade in and best technology for the money. I have heard them at my dealer and they sound fabulous. You can get those mono blocks later on. Again just my opinion.

jax4736, which did you like better? Did they play them with the same electronics? Sophia 3 (my speaker) is going to be easier to drive and may play more nicely with the other gear you already have as it's more forgiving. The general consensus, of course, is that Sasha is the more complete speaker, but I chose Sophia...it just fit my ear better at the time. Of course, since then, I've heard Sasha with other gear that has shown it off quite spectacularly, but that gear is out of my reach. In hearing Sasha at it's best, the only thing it lacked, to me, was the scale that you get with the large Wilson speakers such as MAXX/Alexandria.

Personally, I think they're both great speakers, so select the one that spoke to you from your listening sessions.

My room is 13.5 x 20. I've had Sophias and Sashas in here. The Sashas are will give you all they've got in your space. The reasons to get Sophias are cost and the ease with which they mate with all electronics. You've got the $ and 300 watts. Easy call. Go Sasha.

Sorry for the obvious question, but can you get a home trial of the Sasha's? That way you will know for sure that they work in your room and mate with your electronics. It they end up overpowering the room or if your amp just can't drive them how you want, then you know your decision is to buy the Sophia's.

As a comparison, I just moved my Sasha's from a very large 20 X 36 X 9 room to a 15 X 23 X 9 room. I was afraid they would overpower the room, but to my surprise they sound great in the new room. In many ways they are even better than in the larger room with stronger bass articulation, greater tonal density and more immediacy. I am using quite a bit of absorption and bass traps though. Your room is somewhat smaller than mine and a home trial would answer your question.

More to the point, any competent dealer should offer you a home demo of equipment at this price level.

How can you do any more than "qualify" equipment in a store where it's not your audio chain and not your room that you're listening to?

My room is 14' x 19', so similar to yours. Absoultely no problems here.

My amp is the Ayre V-5xe. It supposedly can deliver 300 watts into 4 ohms, but I will try to audition the Sasha with that amp I am concerned this is still not enough amp. Most folks using Ayre seem to be using the MX-R mono blocks. I would hate to get the Sasha and discover m amp isn't letting them shine.
