Dave and Corey, along with Magnolia Audio Merchant Sara Klarstrom, met at the Audio Research facility in Minneapolis. Audio Research is part of the Fine Sounds group, the parent company of Sonus faber, and at their headquarters they had a pair of Aidas ready for demo. With a suitcase full of music, Dave sat down and quickly fell in love. His long journey for the perfect speaker was over, but the search for the perfect sound had just begun.
You might want to read the entire thread. It already addresses this.

They met at ARC to hear Aida. Heck I may even know the people who had a hand in setting up those Aidas.

They wanted what they heard. Magnolia is not a dealer sooooooo...

..the ARC gear was sold to the customer by a Texas dealer.

So why would Magnolia feature a brand on the cover of its magazine it has no intention of selling??

Hopefully, this a just a picture of that customer's home because 1) it's beautiful and 2) Magnolia is trying to prove that they will go anywhere and obtain any missing piece to make the customer happy (unspoken--as long as it's a WOM piece).

My final reply. I have two Audio Research systems up and running at my House. Master Bedroom the VS160 Dac7 and Sonos

In my office above the garage VS175 CD9 disc player DAC and Sonos.

So I called the guy who sold me both systems to find out if this is true or not. I asked have you heard the rumor about Magnolia selling Audio Research. Asked how I heard I saw the magazine. He said a customer brought the magazine into the store about a month ago and we were shocked. Been an Audio Research Dealer for 25+ years so I called them to ask. Audio Research would not give him a yes or no. Basically no comment. He's not very happy with the company.

So……….what you're saying is your ARC dealer is scared of the competition ?

You obviously like ARC (so do I, it's been in my systems for 30 years) ……. let the market decide !

Guys, Fine Sounds facilitated the Aida demo at ARC. The idea was for the customer to audition the speakers, not the electronics. The customer threw a money wrench into the equation by wanting the system he heard, not Aidas with Mac.

Sooooooooooooo.. ARC contacted the nearest ARC dealer to the client and he sold the client the ARC.

Can I be any clearer?
