Default New Ref5se in the house!

Hello All
I'm in the middle of a room redo. I am planning to replace most of my gear for an all new 2.0 system. Phase 1 was the purchase of the Ref5se. The preamp replaces a Bryston SP 1.7 surround processor I use in bypass mode. I am using a Bryston 14b amp until I get a Ref 150. I'm using Salk Soundscape 8 speakers with a plan to upgrade them eventually as well. The great info on this site was invaluable and I appreciate it! It looks like I do not have privileges to add pics. I have some Un boxing pics. I'll work on that and post my impressions soon. Pete

Nice one, enjoy! One of the best - with the ref150 you will have a very addictive system. Try going to bed at night will be hard.

Congratulations! There is a Ref 150 in our marketplace, you should snag that! But I know how hard it is to buy it all at once...

You will love your Ref5.

Congrats. Easily one of the best additions I made to my system!

I find my tubes need an hour playing to really come into their own. Not just 1 hr on, but an hour with some current. Patience is rewarded!

pete6737, if you become a "Subscriber" you can directly post pictures AND have access to the Marketplace, wherein treasures lay.

Congrats on the Ref 5SE. I'll second that it is the best addition I've made to my system. Enjoy the many hours of listening you have ahead of you!

Thanks to all. 7 hours into the break in and I am already very impressed with the way this sounds! Silky smooth holographic sound. Something I'm not used to in the old prepro. I can't imagine what this will sound like after several hundred hours! Saving for the Ref 150 now.

Where in the site can find how to be a subscriber? Looked high and low to no avail. Thanks. Pete

It's under user control pad. There is also a banner ad for it at the bottom of the screen. I tried and failed to make a link for you. I just got a new computer and for some bizarre reason Windows 8.1 does not use a right click to bring up the copy to the clipboard function, at least not on this track pad.

P.S. Here you go http://www.audioaficionado.org/payments.php (If you use task bar Explorer you can cut and paste, but not with tile Explorer.)

Keen to hear what your thoughts are after you compared the 14B with the 150.
