It sounds crazy, but I have noticed the same thing. My system sounds better when the humidity is high. Fortunately, I live in an area where the humidity is high most of the time. I still can't figure out why humidity would affect the sound though.

Something always tell me when it has a less noisy day, it is later at night when you become more sensitive, and if is darker in the room, the sound seems cleaner, well at least to me.

Also I feel even with the newer gear that once it is on at least 30-60 minutes and warmed up like a car engine it seems to open up a little bit too.

However, it is possible that it is the speaker coils, crossovers etc. i know on my older 7270 MC amp it for sure is better after on for a while.

But I think line current too all things considered makes the most diff and a good power conditioner will flatten out these less than stellar times for you

I have frequently noticed the same thing in regards to the humidity level, yet thought I must be nuts.

Would this be due to an increase in potential static electricity when the humidity level is low?

You guys crack me up! I am dying laughing. I am going to try the wash suggestion though; exactly where was that wash and what time does the err, servicing begin? Late at night when the room darkens my system does seem to crank it out! Thanks for jumping in on is guys; for a minute I thought these folks are going to think I'm crazy putting this one out there. Well, I see you're all nuts too!
