Default Suggestions for a small system

A friend is looking to break out her old albums again and is considering this system.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FN28H2W..._asin_img&th=1

Her budget is $1,500 and I feel she can do much better for that price.

Requirements would simply be a TT, powered speakers and ability to stream from her phone.

All suggestions welcomed.

Thanks.

Hello Paltomare, I bought my daughter a Bluesound powernode and a pair of
Elac UB5's. With stands and homemade cords I was under $1,500. It sounds
very good and can pack up and move easily. Sorry, no turntable in that system,
but she runs it all off her phone. The best thing is you can expand that system and still use everything you already bought. Good luck and have fun.

I was thinking about Bluesound as well. I spent some time in their room at LAAS this past weekend.
BTW, I also have the C2600/MC301 combo, very happy with it.

Update: No RCA input for TT....bummer.

Pick up some used Dynaudio XEO speakers.

I have the XEO 3's in my office setup and I am blown away each time I hear them shine. Best powered speakers I've heard for that price.

Another even cheaper option is the Peachtree DeepBlue2. As a Bluetooth speaker with a class d 400 +\- watt amp, it is pretty good. One of my best $300 purchases for casual background listening, when I'm too lazy to go downstairs and hear my reference system

Both powered options mentioned are streamable from phone, with integrated DACs, amplifiers, etc.

Add a tidal subscription and she may let the turntable collect dust.

She's getting caught up in the vinyl revival. Whatever I suggest to her must include a TT but I'd like to the ability to stream to wireless speakers in other rooms too.

Got it.

Both the XEO and the DeepBlue2 have analog as well as digital inputs-

They ended up with a pair of Audioengine 5+ and a turntable that she couldn't remember the name of.
At least they're enjoying playing albums again.
Thanks for all of the suggestions.

This is fine right here, as long as she sticks with a PC/Mac, and a high capacity hard drive with her music stored on it, or otherwise, where is she going to plug in a streamer??

That's what I would've suggested.

Excellent First Audio System for the new audiophile, or budding album/music enthusiast. But now, if she gets a newer NAD Integrated Amplifier, they don't have Phono Inputs I believe, so she would have had to budget for a Separate Phono Stage (and I believe NAD makes a couple of them, if I'm not mistaking). Otherwise, she would've had to search out an older NAD Integrated (those DO have Phono Inputs built in).
