No, I said the 802 was the best (though $8k more than the Sopra), and I preferred the Sopra over the 803.

Ah apologies didn't pay enough attention to all the numbers

That was my personal opinion of the Sopra2's, I ended up going with a set of B&W 803D3 as I found them a lot warmer than the Focals.
I am driving them with a Devialet D400 setup.

Just heard Sopra No3 shipping .... when I am back home, will give it a good listen. if the No2 is so good, I trust the No3 had to be that much better ... at least! The question is how much ......

I think you are misinterpreting the number system with sound quality. 1 is the smallest 3 is the largest. Each persons listening environment dictating what model number will work best for them.

There is no mention of any Sopra no 3 on their webpage or anywhere else.

Please share what info you might have...

Yeah, I may have. Still if the 1 & 2 are so good looking (and sounding - especially the 2's), I am thinking that the No3 would have to be better ...

I liked the No 2 a lot (have not heard them) and probably would have to save for quite a while before I can afford them. Just a dream for now. Thanks for pointing out my silly assumption. Cheers!

Well, it was a rumour all along ... but had the chance to speak to the dealer, who told me its NOT. In fact, he's getting a shipment sometime next week (or the week after). I also said the same to him about web not having any info ... he just said, come on over and have a listen when you are back. Thats how the story goes. I will take some pics when having the audition next week to share - IF they are indeed available.

I suppose they must be highly priced and probably out of my league. Am saving for the No2's for now. I always go by the thinking the bigger and the upper model the better, which "Dr Tone" pointed out. Silly me!

I would expect a larger cabinet, more bass extension, and higher price to match. For the ranges that the no 2 covers, I don't think it will be a huge improvement, perhaps capable of more SPL if the room is too large for the no 2.

Nice, please give more info when available.

The rumour has been ongoing since I bought mine last summer, my dealer and importer said there was no number 3 coming, some others here and there has said their dealers said otherwise.

Im following most series upgrades, the difference between no 2 and no 3 should be in the bass region only, and nothing in the midrange and tweeter.

Even though I would be interested, I have a perfect integration with my no 2's in my room, and im not sure more bass would be better for my room which is 35 sq. meters.
Also, the no 2's are 55KGs each, which is doable for moving around alone. I imagine having heavier sopras would be crap for moving yourself, as you have to move them by the base on spikes to avoid tilting the speaker.
I've caught myself loosing the spike protectors some times when moving them around, its not fun.

Still interesting
