Default Integrated amp getting warm when not switched on

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if on your Burmester amplifier/integrated you can notice they are warm when not in use.

Mine is warm on the left side towards the back, when it is not even switched on, just the main O/I power at the back.

I am wondering if someting is wrong and if I should have it looked at. It is 3 month old (integrated 051). Any help appreciated

Best regards,
Nico

None of my Burmesters have any warmth when in stand-by. I don't have an 051, and it is quite a different layout from my amps, but Burmesters don't draw too much current in standby, certainly not enough to make the chassis warm.

You should probably get it looked at, as current flowing where it should not be is never a good thing.

I thought they stopped making the 051 longer than 3 months ago? The entire Rondo line is gone. You must have one of the last ones built.

It's normal Nico, I also have a 051 and it's the same when in standby, warm on the left side towards the back; the manual states it consumes 25W.

Just checked my 082.
Off since 2 hours ago.
It's cold.

Thanks everyone for checking

I finally managed to get in touch with my dealer to know if I should take it in. He's answer was that it's normal.

Maybe the 051 being quite smaller than the other Burmester amps, the warmth reaches the casing, but not on the 082 since it has much more volume inside?

Otherwise, yes I think I got one of the last models of the Rondo line, but hopefully it does not make it any less good!

Nico

Very glad it's okay. The 082 that Bart and I use only consumes 3 watts in standby. Just enough to run the IR receiver, I suspect.

If the 052 is using 25w in standby, it is running bias current through the transistors. My 082 is only using around 35w when it is on, but not playing. No waiting for warm-up time for you

And as for being less good - it's Burmester, it's all good

The 051 is a fantastic little amp!
