Brand NEW Apogee Duet 2 Unboxing Video
I waited 2 months to get this and is still very hard to get. The unit is a DAC and headphones amp powered by USB, no wall power supply. The original Duet was very successful, but this is said to be a lot better. You can use it on-the-go with a laptop and headphones. I will see if it would work with iPad via USB. Should be fun. I will post my impressions in a few, but here is the unboxing video.

 ........I gotta go to their site and see what this device actually do. It sounds like you can hook this up behind your C50 via USB and listen via headphones using the Duet's dac?

The Duet 2 handles 24/192. The C50 does not. I plan on downloading some Rolling Stones 24/176 files to hear how the C50 sounds with the Duet 2. Another use is to convert vinyl to digital files in 24.96 or 24/192. The Duet 2 is fully balanced too!

Just want to let you guys know that I am very impressed and happy with this DAC/Headphones amp. It's sound is very revealing and not a hint of harshness like some modern DACs. The headphones out has plenty of kick to drive my Beyer T1 (600 Ohms). I am pairing it with my new Sony MDR-7520 Professional headphones. Match made in heaven for a mobile DAC. Did I mention it is USB Bus Powered? Yeah, no power supply needed.

I have listened to some free 24/96 & 24/176 music. Sounds great, but not my taste in music. Maybe I'll buy an Elton John album from HDtracks in the near future. I'm just too cheap to pay for a high-rez album that I already own in 16/44 & SACD. The Apogee sounds great with 16/44.1 music ripped from CDs.
