A couple of questions for those way more knowledgeable...
I am using a Mac Book Pro, an Oppo 103 and I use JRiver 21 via Silenzio.

1: On Iso2dsd, under the options column on the left side, do I want to check the "Convert DST to DSD"?

2: When I have an Iso file, I can not seem to open it. I am not sure how to edit the tags prior to importing to the my NAS? And I am trying to use a wine version of Mp3tag with little success. Is anyone using another metadata program on OSX with luck?
Thanks

Doesn't matter. You will get the same ISO either way.

MC21 should just play it without any adjustments unless your system cannot handle DSD. Try dragging it into the "Playing Now" window and choose "Add to playing now"; you should see all the component tracks listed and playable.

You cannot. Put it on the NAS and edit the tags in MC21.

No idea. Most taggers cannot handle ISOs.

Here are the steps that I used:
1. I created the iso file using iso2dsd. (The iso file is one big file.)
2. Then create the DSF files from the iso file also using iso2dsd. (The DSF files are the individual tracks.)
3. Then use mp3tag to open the DSF files. (You cannot open the iso file using mp3tag).

Kal and Nicoff,
Thanks for the help.

Nicoff, I click file input on upper left of Iso2dsd, then select the file. I change output to SonyDSF? Correct?
Thanks.

This is exactly what you want to do.

Keep the ISO for archival purposes. Use the DSF for all playback as you can fix the meta errors and have track-by-track speed (some systems may experience some lag while software sniffs through a 2-3gb ISO file for your particular track).

MP3Tag works great, or you can just do the tags in JRiver once imported under the Audio->File view (easiest way to drag-select and such).

It is a 2-step process. In the first step you are ripping the ISO file from the SACD. In the second step, you are opening the ISO file with iso2dsd and creating the DSF files. So if you are asking about the second step, that is correct. You can also select whether you want the stereo files or the mch files.

You can tag individual tracks in an ISO with JRiver. Also, I do this many times daily and never experienced any perceptable delay with individual tracks in an ISO.

I too prefer ISO but Roon doesn't support ISO and from their forums it doesn't appear that they will.

FYI - by mistake I forgot to change the iso2dsd program to RAW ISO format when archiving and instead archived directly to Sony DSF format. Worked fine.
