Nah, just 4 Ultra SS w/ bases.

What type of rack is holding your components, if I may ask? Looks great.

Default Stillpoints under Speakers

There are a couple of possible explanations as to why the Ultra 5s performed poorly under the speakers:
1) Did you assure there was a gap between the bottom surface of the speaker and the top of the Ultra 5?
2) When installing under speakers we frequently find that because the speaker is now isolated from the room using the Stillpoints, a resulting tonal shift requires re-positioning in the room.
3) Noting that your room is carpeted, did you give the speakers + Ultra 5s a few days to fully settle into the carpeting?

I am not doubting your listening acumen, but it is really unusual for us to receive a comment that our product does not perform well under speakers. Speakers are normally one of the best performing locations.

6 Ultra 5 ,s with bases
8 Ultra SS
8 Ultra Mini
1 LPI.

3 of the Ultra 5,s went under the VPI turntable
3 Ultra 5,s under the Sony XA777ES
4 Ultra Mini under the Manley Chinook
4 Ultra Mini under the Manley Shrimp
4 Ultra SS under each Manley Neo Classic 250
and the LPI for the turntable spindle.

I tried the Ultra 5,s under the Duntech Sovereign,s , not that easy as the Duntech,s weigh in at 200KG each.
The results were poor.....very muddy and complete loss of detail.

Went back to my custom pavers which have a SS insert in the bottom with a spike to the concrete slab ( I cast my slab at 2ft thick when i built my dedicated room) ) . Then there is a 10mm layer of natural cork between the paver and the Sovereign plinth .

The results with the rest of my system though was VERY positive. To my surprise the most dramatic improvement was the Ultra 5,s under the CD player..... i really didn't expect this as i thought the turntable would benifit the most.

Probably the least improvement was the Manly Monoblocks..... dont get me wrong, there was an improvement but it was more subtle than the other components.

Anyway, thrilled to have gone down the Stillpoints route...

Hope there are not to many pics..

Hi John, Thanks for the response.
#1 NO... i had the Ultra 5,s directly under the plinth as recommended by the supplier here in Aus.
#2 YES... did try different positioning .....which is very time consuming with the speakers sheer weight.
#3 NO ...trials were done on the same day and following day.

I might machine up some threaded inserts i can install into the Sovereigns plinth, i will also machine some threaded sections for the Ultra 5,s to screw directly into the inserts on the Sovereigns plinth and give the ultra 5,s another try.
