I am going to talk to Joe from Musical Surroundings when he is here in a few days. I am now ready to order a Performance. I just need to decide whether to get the current one now, or wait for the new DC version. The latter is what I want, but it depends on how long the wait for it is.

I had mentioned I would talk to Musical Surroundings and post some info but this week was very busy for me......looks like Joe will provide you with the info you need in a few day's. I would go the DC motor route

Hi all, I'm a newbie to TT. I am looking at a used demo Concept with MC cartridge for $1,300 and I would like to know if this will match well with my McIntosh C2300 tube preamp with built in MM and MC phono stage? Thanks.

Thanks Jeff. My next question is, is the Dynavector 10x5 MC cartridge any good for the Concept? Thanks.

I haven't tried the Dynavector with the Concept but it should be fine.....two known cartridges that work with the Concept are the Concept MC and Meastro V2 Ebony MM cartridge.....Benz Ace works great too but difficult to get at this time.

Jeff, I have another question, for the same price, beside the looks, what is the difference between the claeraudio Concept TT and the Marantz TT15 Acrylic turntable that are also made by Clearaudio?

Sorry I missed this post......The Marantz TT was based from the CA Emotion table......The main difference was the arm wand on the Marantz TT was Aluminum vs the Carbon Fiber on the Emotion table. The Emotion had two generations, the first being the Emotion which the Marantz was based from.

The second generation Emotion was named "Emotion SE" it used the CMB (ceramic magnetic bearing) bearing, detatched ac motor and upgraded feet. The Emotion SE was phased out of the US market when the Concept was born.
