Default Paragon's Wilson/D'Agostino/Bully Sound Event

I spent a very enjoyable evening with Frank (Vettedrummer) Doug (Hondo) and Chuck (SRT-10 Viper) during Day 1 of 2 at Paragon's Midwest debuts of the Wilson Alexia speakers, Dan D'Agostino's Momentum Line Stage Pre-amp and Brett DAgostino's Pure Class A mono blocks and stereo amps.

The main room was set-up with the Alexia's, Momentum mono blocks, the new line stage all connected with Transparent cabling. The demo I sat thru began with Dan D'Agostino discussing the design goals for both the power and pre-amp. Peter McGrath followed by discussing the Alexia's and how they compare to the Sasha's, Maxx 3 and Alexandria XLF lines.

Next Peter gave a brief demonstration of the importance of time aligning the drivers in a speaker with the listening position. The demo consisted of him playing a brief clip of music. He then adjusted the tweeter module on each of the Alexia's by a mere 1/16 of an inch before repeating the same piece of music. I did not hear anyone say they did not hear a large difference in the presentation.

I cannot identify how much of the presentation should be attributed to the Alexia's or to Dan's new line stage. I can tell you the final result was outstanding. Anyone who can handle the price of admission is going to be happy with the end result.

The Alexia's are $48,500. The D'agostino is either $32,000 or $34,000.

Wow....
That's a lot of money especially if you make the total of that with the monoblocks....

Jim, what about the exterior design of the Momentum Preamp. I know there has been different opinions in this matter on AA. Does it look better "alive"...?
