Hope you can make it.
Not to make you feel bad, but Dany's Futuras sounded great in his shop. So I think I'm 1 for 3 on those speakers. I told him I'd have to drag my Simaudio stack up there at some point (I bought a P-8 to go with the W-7) to see how it all sounded together. But I guess if I go down to NY for the Aida I could try to hear the Futuras at Stereo Exchange.

No worries. I would expect Dany's to sound better than any show.

The Sim should be great with Sonus. Just ask Lionel and Kosta. Could probably have Futura hooked up with it at the Aida debut.

I think the P-8 would be fine, but I worry that the W-7 wouldn't be able to properly drive them. You've been using some heavy duty hardware at the shows, and I think Ivan is driving his with something like the MC 1.2KW.

On another topic, what did you think of OCOS speaker cable, way back when?

I wanted the REF5/REF250s at RMAF but there weren't any available.

Ivan is using a Bryston 28B-SST2 if I recall correctly. I would think that the W-7 at 300 w/ch into 4 ohms and almost no current limiting down to 2 ohms should do just fine into the Futura in all but the biggest rooms.

Love OCOS. Is it perfect? No. Is it more neutral than all but the best mega-buck cables? Absolutely. Might you prefer others? Sure. But if you are trying to find out what a system is doing, it's great!

We still use it at Sumiko for many of our in house set ups. It's also nice to use during training - if the cable gets pulled out of speakers while you're moving them around there's no danger to amp or speakers.
