Stephen...glad you started this thread. I have some 200Lps and growing sitting in boxes or on the floor leaning against the wall. So looking forward to some responses. I have this in the LR:
Index Three Low Bookcase - Design Within Reach  But it is currently filled with books and knick nacks which I would have to displace. Plus the LPs will only fit in the bottom shelve and I don't feel like bending down so much

I have seen many folks recommend the Expedit shelving from Ikea. The cubes formed by the shelves are just the right size for LPs and it is an inexpensive investment (ofcourse it is Ikea quality so you get what you pay for) but here are some pics and links:

Stephen...great thread. Looking forward to seeing others solutions to their growing vinyl collections. All of my vinyl is housed in a dedicated room, a specially designed closet and furniture made for vinyl storage.

I built this record storage cabinet, and the matching turntable platform on top, during my junior year in high school. (1975-1976). There is additional storage in the rear of the cabinet; for seldom used LP's. There is a stop in the bottom rear for the albums stored in the front. I can't believe it was 35 years ago that I built it. Just for grins, I've included a vintage picture of the cabinet from "back in the day". At that time I had a cool hooded case for my turntable that was given to me by a neighbor friend. The case was originally intended for a computer keypunch machine. The turntable was a Technics SL-1500 manual turntable with an Empire 2000 E/III cartridge.
