Weight clamps make a difference on all 3 of my TT rigs. Different clamps also yield different results.

Size of the vinyls are always different because it depends on their weight.
Different sizes need different weights. If you have an fixed weight clamp you are not doing things properly.
The reason is because of the small step all platters have that helps to the vinyl to bend a little bit to get more damping factor thanks to the sum of platter and vinyl mass.

The only way that fixed weight clamps help is in totally planar platters, e.g. Clearaudio Statement.

I hope everybody can understand my explanation.

Of course different clamps make different results, but you can't get THE BEST result (or maybe yes)

I have somewhat of a clamp collection:

ClearAudio Quadro
ClearAudio Statement
Furutech Monza
Aluminati Standard
Aluminati Heavy Stainless
HRS ADL (light)
HRS ADH (heavy)
VPI stock clamp
Avid stock screw clamp

Come to think of it; I may have "Clamp Issues"

Best clamps are the different pressure clamps. Like twister clamp from clearaudio, feickert clamp, spj clamp..... etc etc

Congratulation for your clamp collection ;-D

I have a yacht and even with a stabilizer at shore, there is no way a high quality table will work properly unless dry docked where I am.

Would love to see this guys set up.

I like this idea, thanks
Wonder what this weight weighs compared to the 448 gram aluminati; and if the differences are due to the heaviness tempering resonances.

My vpi tnt has a very strong motor with 2 belts. With my sutherland timeline the tnt shows remarkable speed variation due to different weight clamps/weights or the lp weight itself. In an email to Matt at aluminati when I bought the great $50 lp weight I asked: Does a platter running a little fast give the appearance of being lively- he replied yes. So speed not only changes timber but when altered just a little effects perception. If you are going to use different weights you need to be able to adjust speed otherwise a heavy one is going to sound sluggish

I added to my Clearaudio turntable different clamps and also a new outer clamp (Outer ring) and velocity remains the same without problems. I checked it!
I usually review some other turntables to Hifilive.es emagazine and they also have constant speed adding different clamps....

I agree about the more velocity the lively sound
