not sure...it hummed when I plugged it in on the kitchen island, away from all electronics. I'll check on the humbuster. i have PS Audio wall outlets but those wouldn't help this issue

The hum is most likely from the pots of the transformer , I had a similar problem with a Mac multichannel amp., they replaces the amp. and the new one has been quiet

Wonder if this would do the trick...cheaper than a used Humbuster III...and I assume I can return it if it doesn't work for me...https://emotiva.com/collections/acce...products/cmx-2

Default Anyone else with an MC7106 that hums?

+2 - buy the Emotiva DC blocker. If it doesn’t work then you can send it back and decide to live with it or send the 7106 off to the doctor.

Thanks! I probably won't send to the doc, too heavy and it's a pain in the ass...it's not that awful. hopefully the Emotiva works. I was on their site, their equipment is actually very reasonably priced in comparison to McIntosh - not that Mc isn't reasonable, it's just pricier.

Emotiva is a great value. I haven’t heard their recent stuff. Their early stuff was forward and harsh sounding.

Curious to hear if the Emotiva get's rid of the hum
I have a MA7000 and it hummed since day one. Has been in service but they did not detect anything wrong with it.
Lowering the voltage on the PS Audio P10 it is connected to does lower the hum considerably!

I had an MC 7150 (chassis ground, two prong AC plug) and an MC 7104 (3 prong) amp both running off the same outlet years ago and I got a 60 hz hum from that. Fixed it with a "cheater" 3 to 2 adapter. Do you have some 2 prong stuff plugged into the same power outlet? Maybe a long shot but..................

P10 has the humbuster built in. It is able to remove DC up to 1.2V from the mains.
