Wow: MAXX3 Crushes With Delicacy
Before work this morning I took a few moments to listen to an SACD of E. Power Biggs playing J.S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D-minor, BWV 565. We all know the piece. Esoteric UX-1 universal player, Boulder 810 preamplifier, ARC DS450 amplifier and KS cables.
Holy Cathedrals, Bat Man! The bass from this system is truly soul crushing. And I have heard no other speaker that delivers such incredible top to bottom dynamics while still being able to give all the delicacy of air and the sound of the hall. For my ears, this is revolutionary. Yes, I know, I owe you all pictures. But I'm still listening A LOT and tying up loose ends (like getting my 96/24 streaming going). I'm also taking the family to a Rays' business man's special this afternoon. But I promise: soon. To say this has been a fun week is an understatement. Congrats!! wow ! wow ! looking forward to your listening impressions vs. Sophia 3s.
I know the Maxx3 would win hands down, but it would be interesting how similar they would be. Enjoy ! |

Thanks, man. They really are cool on so many levels.
When you going to try to listen to some Sophia3s? I'd wager you'll be shocked by what they can do. |

I am afraid to do it. I just dropped (for me) a small fortune on gear upgrades (Sophia 2's, BAT VK-600SE and BAT VK-52SE). I am deathly afraid if I hear the Sophia 3's I won't be satisfied with the Sophia 2's.
