Dave,
Congrats - you've got a system that will give you years of real pleasure. The Sashas are something very special, and of course Serge's descriptions of Lamm leave no doubt in my mind those components are of the very highest calibre.

Default I should have been more clear in my post ....

Hi Dave,

I realize that the equipment was not Serge's. I'm sorry if it sounded like that.

Please keep us posted on how the system sounds. I'm thinking Wilson speakers are in my future also. It looks to me like all you guys have great taste. Good Luck.

Joe

Dave;

I have the Lamm 1.2s in my system... I've done various tube rolling and have found some magical combinations. If you get a chance to try Telefunkens (gold tips) you'll be amazed at the improvement over the stock tubes.

Great system!

What a deception for me !
Even Lamm puts "crappy" stock tubes in their wonderful amps ??

Maybe not crappy just NOT NOS...

I think that there are only a couple of companies that actually design and build their amps entirely around NOS tubes.

Audio Note, Kondo, Shindo, to name a few...

Lamms stock tubes are fine, but as two dot stated not NOS. I've tried multiple tubes and the telefunken's give the best sound for me to date.

Default Lamm tube rolling

Hey guys,

Thanks for the suggestion on the tubes for the M1.2 amps. I have always had great experience with Telefunkens, so that 's where I'll start with the 6922's. But beyond that, I've got lots of possibilities for rolling including the phono (417A's) and the preamp.

First thing is to get all my interconnects put together the way I want them. Right now I'm filling in with Nordost Quatro Fil and Blue Heaven until my Cardas GR and WSS arrive this week. Then I want to experiment with some isolation cones under the phono and line stage. Once I am sure I've got the best set up of the gear, then comes tube rolling time! Dick Olsher's review of the LL2.1 preamp was very informative about tube rolling, so I'll probably start there.

Lot's of fun ahead!
