Intouch1... I'm also looking forward to your impression. What kind of room treatment are you using? The room seems quite small for these speakers, or are they actually quite large?

the room is actually very large, which cannot be seen on the pics. it has a rather odd shape for stereo setup though. maybe Serge will post a pic of the whole room.
my ceiling is very high and in volume, th room is very very large. the corner that the speakers have to sit in is a bit small. the first seconds after hooking up the 3's, i was shocked. i had gotten used to the sasha's sound and was expecting much more ooomph from the 3's. they somehow sounded flat. it only took about 30 minutes to realize that this 'flat' is actually a good thing. it's a big speaker that does not impose itself as such. no bloominess, edginess or in your face slam. just natural music. the bass and midrange are what strike me the most. absolutely controlled smooth bass with an incredibly natural midrange. obviously with the rooms limitations and still trying to find the sweet spot, i am nowhere near exploitig the full capability of them. what i found odd though, is that upon first casual listening imprssions, is that my Pass Labs X-350.5 seems to drive them much better than the Audio Research 210 mono's. I will get back on that issue after a few more hours of listening. I will also get my Halcro dm78's here and hook them up to see how these will sound with the Maxx. Naturally, i am very happy I actually went for the Maxx3 as I initially was shopping for a used pair of Maxx2. Everyone warned me and said that the Sasha had the Maxx2 beaten in all areas and that I would not be happy with them and should go the whole 9 yards. |

Serge, thank you for posting the pics. Greatly appreciated.
And yes, white turned out to look very good. It's also a timeless colour that blends with whatever interior. Maybe you could post th pic i mailed you showing the whole room ? Will gie everyone here more insight as to the setup. |

Congratulations!
The white looks good and seems to make them less visually imposing, I think. Are you able to use Wilson's speaker placement method in that small area, and did you?

Intouch1.......WOW. I am positive you will be completely thrilled with these speakers for a long time. The Wilson Audio Maxx 3's are beautiful in white. Find that sweet spot, and enjoy.
