Congrats. That is going to take an already awesome system to another level!
When does it get here? |

I am hoping the end of next week. The details are still being finalized - not least of which is that I have not told my wife.

She will be ok with it - just roll her eyes and walk off muttering. Upgradeitis is a chronic affliction, one with which she is familiar.

LOL That is funny! My husband has done that a few times, yet with cars. He loves to restore cars, and likes to buy clunkers to "restore". My favorite is: "I accidently bought a car today". You should try that one! "Honey, I accidently bought a couple Amps and such today. I am so sorry!" LOL

I told her tonight. She just laughed and said "I knew you would." We had talked about it before and I guess I am not much of a poker player.
Here is the great part - it gets here Saturday!!! |

In my case, i always dont tell my wife of my audio purchases for the last 15 years or so.
The next thing she knows , a new item is already in the room or the family den. I figure i earn my own income & provide enough for the family, kids education, etc. I also have the right to enjoy what I earn. After all, life is kinda short not to enjoy. |

With a Wadia front-end
(I'm running the 27 transport/DAC duo), I go straight into the amp, bypassing the inevitable coloration of a pre-amp. I use the pre-amp as a phono stage only. (Wadia feeds a VAC Renaissance 70/70 and through Transparent Reference cables, plays into the WattPuppy 5's, due for immediate replacement by - I'm thinking - the Sophia 3's.)
