Cyril, it seems Luxman is really 100% back in business.
Their pre amp C900u, their SACD player D-08u, and now their M-900u all get the highest praise.

Cyril.......It is good to see Luxman producing true high-end components once again for the US market. There was a time when they lost their way here, abusing their name and reputation with mid-fi offerings in the big box stores. It left me totally turned off to the brand.
This new stereo amplifier certainly seems well built and powerful enough. I'm sure some will find the bland styling attractive. No doubt the materials are robust and the build quality is exact but I don't find the look to be something I would be pleased to live with. It's appearance looks sterile to me. What it does seem to have, if you can believe the reviewer's comments, is a rich and rewarding sound. At $19,900.00 for a 150 w/p/c power amplifier it will need to sound good, no, make that very good to make it from dealer showrooms to music lovers' homes. There is a lot of solid competition at the $20k level.

I own the companion flagship Luxman preamp, the C-900u. At $19,900 US it is admittedly very expensive, but after hearing it in my system I actually consider it to be the best audio purchase that I've ever made. It's a transformative piece of gear, taking my entire system's performance to another level. Build quality is also truly of reference quality. I'm with Cyril in that I find their appearance to be very classy and tasteful and the finish is as good as anything I've seen, but of course that is totally subjective as Dan's comments demonstrate. To each their own!

The new Luxman pair is one of the most attractive pieces of gear I've seen. I'd love to hear them. I could live with them, very easily.
