I do use Shunyata Typhon's in parallel on each amp with excellent results
Same here-Dedicated 20 amp line for each amp, Shunyata Alpha HC, Shunyata Typhon. Great results.

If anything, my system sounds almost ideal to me but may require a bit of control in the very far treble.
The Shunyata power cords are a GREAT match with the MX-R's. I've plugged my MX-R's into my Triton before. It does somewhat lower the noise floor, some better focus and resolution, but at a cost of some dynamics. I prefer straight to the wall for power amps...Our Ayre MX-R's have great power supplies and some built in conditioning already.

I do the same here. My MXR 20's go to the wall using Sigma HC power cords. Never tried the Triton - my other electronics use the Triton.

Resurrecting this thread...

I went to a audio "show" at Audio Connection in Verona, NJ last weekend and Garth Powell from Audioquest was there with his Niagara power conditioners. He did a bit of talking and then demoed a Muddy Waters cut from Folk Singer with and without the conditioner. It was night and day. Listening without any power conditioning left the music with much less dynamics and the song of the hall was gone.

So, it got me wondering if I should be using power conditioning with my MX-Rs. Right now they are plugged directly in the wall. Powell explained what "dirty" power does to dynamics since it has the biggest affect in situations where the amp needs that extra bit of current for a drum tap, etc.

We were at the same demo and as I shared with you afterwards, I was able to hear the 1000 unit with the guys after everyone left and it blew me away. I'm selling my Synergistic Research Powercell 10SE/Tesla. It's the best conditioner/grounding unit I've heard to date but the Niagara 7000 blew it out of the water. It was a full component upgrade and a must IMHO.

Ayre does a GREAT job in their power filtering for all the Twenty components, but even they benefit from the use of a Niagara. If it's just filtering for sources, the SR Powercell 10 has been and is outstanding to say the least. I'm sure I won't have problems finding a good buyer at a fair price. Very interesting thread though.
