Grieg Piano Concerto/ Sir Clifford Curzon, piano / Oivin Fjeldstadt, conducting the LSO from 1960.

Excellent sound quality, despite a little forte string harshness. This is one sweet, intensely musical performance by all concerned. Curzon is brilliant, Fjeldstad, who I had never heard of until listening to this recording, shows impressive attention to detail while staying totally attuned to Curzon. The LSO was lush, dynamic, refined. It is easy to se why this is considered by many to be the benchmark recording of this popular work for over 50 years now!

Third time I listen to this CD.
I can only agree with the findings above.
The Peer Gynt is equally good.

Claire Lefilliâtre must have one of the most beautiful and flexible voices of today.
I remember when I heard her live, she touched me deeply.

Good but... I have to say that I prefer my more recently recorded versions.
I might be an old instrument person...
