If you have contemporary décor in your home...kind of an ultra modern look with lighter colors I may be apt to go with the white. I think the black would look better in just about all other homes and décor.

Black is timeless, white... not so much. As long as you like what you hear, either should work.

Hi joey_v,
White officially launches as a finish in North America this summer, and we already have a little bit in most models. Personally, I'd buy white 802D3 in a heartbeat and I'm usually a black speaker kind of guy. Regards, Patrick B&W Group North America |

I liked white a lot when we heard the D3 series a while ago.

I cadged one of your pix to demonstrate why the 802D3 is a bigger speaker than the D2 since B&W does not list internal volume in the specs.
Note that the top of the main cabinet is higher and that the bottom is lower due to the new thinner but heavier plinth. More room for the new woofers to work with. |

White does look good but so does black.
I'm worried about resale in 5 years when the next model comes |

I would actually choose Rosenut for the new series. Red and grey colors have always gone well together and the deep red and silver tones of the new series compliment each other perfectly. The problem with black is the chameleon effect it has in its surroundings so not much of the speaker will stand out as it will with white. But black has an rich elegance that is lost in the white. Between the two I would take black as it is timeless, never goes out of style and will most likely have a higher resale value in the states.
