I want to leave this alone...

Don't EVEN get me started on Brietling...

Glad you have a good one...

Worst watch I ever owned.

Breitling has the best service department. I was sending mine in every few years to change faces. On the strap version they always replaced the strap at no charge. I dumped my Rolex's years ago and my wife has had to have hers in at least three times times that I can remember and they always nickel and dime the repairs. It still keeps crappy time. I guess you can find a lemon in every brand.

An off topic comment. I saw on FBI detectives that a John Doe was identified by his Rolex watch.

Seems like a watch should keep time...

I would love to find a SS Sub that kept PERFECT time.
You might know this already, but most people do not.
You have to wind a Rolex watch, along with just wearing it (self winding).
If not wound, say once a month (manual), they do not keep accurate time.

Yea, and only Doctors and Lawyers listen to McIntosh equipment; right?

And they listen to McIntosh because they are stupid; right?

It is pretty hard to criticize some things; Rolex and McIntosh are two of them. The criticism tends to reflect more on the critic than the item being criticized.

Wow, that's a pretty far leap from my 'tongue-in-cheek' post...

Seriously!!!, my appologies

You have misunderstood my post. I wasn't very clear.

1) My comparison concerning your claim is not a leap, but right on.

"Rolex is the John Doe of Watches"

Vs.

"Only Doctors and Lawyers listen to McIntosh."

Both statements are false. Both mischaracterize the brand and the consumer.
I think they are very similar statements. One is not a leap from the other.

2) As for my question concerning Doctors and Lawyers "And they listen to McIntosh because they are stupid; right?" my intention was not to comment on your post, but to note the self defeating nature of the statement some make "Only Doctors and Lawyers listen to McIntosh," because since Dr.s and Lawyers are generally very intelligent, it is wrong to assume they are ignorant of audio gear, and therefore listen to McIntosh because they have more money than intelligence.

3) My statement "It is pretty hard to criticize some things; Rolex and McIntosh are two of them. The criticism tends to reflect more on the critic than the item being criticized" was not specifically directed at you, but to those who constantly criticize either Rolex or McIntosh. I had a guy who always tried to compete with everyone else around him, and was very insecure tell me once "Everybody has a Rolex." That is just a foolish statement that reflected more on him than Rolex.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. No offense taken, none meant.

Individuality is unique in that the total peculiarity of each one's character distinguishes each of us from others. What is even more unique are the similarities each of us shares despite the individual peculiarities. So different we are, yet so much alike. Our desires are boundless, yet our needs are so common. It is the human condition.
