Default BU or Miami (OH) For NCAA Hockey Title?

OK, a lot of us southern tier residents are transplants and not only know what hockey is but have played and understand the game. We all know the Bruins are going to take home the Cup this year, despite what you wankers in MI think! But we'll start a different thread later for the NHL playoffs.

Tomorrow night is the NCAA college championship and despite having gone to school at the most esteemed institution at the other end of Comm. Ave., I find I have to root for BU. So, Go Terriers!

BU has got to be a big favorite as all of the upsets in week one sent the other big boys packing.

Last night was touch and go, but a wicked entertaining game. Had to use "wicked", going back to my roots! My best friend is a BU grad so we have some friendly banter back and forth throughout the season. Yesterday he tried to rub it in on me that BC hadn't made it in by making a comment that the Beanpot is now the BU Invitational. I said that's what we BC guys used to call the womens dorm at BU. I haven't heard back from, he must be digging deep.

Miami all the way baby! We wanted revenge on BC for last year, but BU will have to do.

When I went to school there we all had bumper stickers saying "Miami's in Ohio DAMMIT!"

BTW, that Florida city got the name from an Ohio real estate company back when Mr. Flagler was laying track down there. Everyone I talk to there is in complete denial.

Man, that regulation game went 20 seconds too long. As much as I dislike the outcome, BU showed a lot of tenacity.

17.4 seconds to be exact! Give up two goals in the final minute and the OT result is pretty much pre-ordained. Fun to watch though.

Hey, don't rub it in Sal! Thanks for the tip, I'm not a big hockey follower although I enjoy watching occasionally.

I'm late to this thread, but hello from another grad (Dec '83)

I got an email from the alumni association... (sigh) Can't we call it what it is? 2nd place?

Congratulations to your Miami RedHawks, the 2009 Men's Ice Hockey National Champion Runner-Up
