Hi. The A47 has an input impedance of RCA input is 20K Ohms and the XRL input is 40k Ohms. Is the output impedance for ARC SP20 matching with A47? Any users can advise? Thanks.

The output impedance of the ARC SP20 is 250 Ohm (500 Ohm XLR) so should not be a problem with the Accuphase, general rule is about a factor for 10-20 higher for the minimum input impedance.

That said - I would get an Accuphase preamp instead

I'm considering the A-47 but have some reservations about the power output driving my Sonus Faber Strads to reasonable levels...Anyone using this amp with a similar or hard to drive speaker with any sucess? I would love to hear your thoughts.

(after doing a bit of homework on the A-47, I came to realize that outputting 90+ watts into 4 ohms (Strad's)...will do just fine.)

I have the Franco Serblin Ktemas which is in close comparison to your Strads and I use the A-70. The A-70 runs the Ktemas effortlessly. I have no doubt the A-47 would do great with higher frequencies , but I can imagine they may sound thin on the low end. Like the Ktemas, the Strads like high current at lower frequencies diving down to 2-3 ohms. With this said, never heard the Strads with the A-47. Personally, I would not go less than the A-70 with high quality gear such as the Strads IMHO.

Thanks for you information and advise. (Just when you think you know everything about your gear..someone politely reminds you of certain facts you may have overlooked) .
You're right...Looks like the Strads will like the extra driving force of the A-70...and they deserve nothing less.

Your Ktemas are beautiful speakers,btw...and like the Strads sound equally wonderful,i'm sure.

Although I'm sure this pic and video have been seen before, it's nice to look and listen again...

Ktema's paired to an Accuphase rig at CES-2013...and the Paris SALON HIFI 2012 show... very nice!

Also depends alot on your room size/volume, in small and medium sized rooms the A-47 will do fine.

A-70 is a Nice amp though

Yes, I have seen these and influenced my purchase. I thought strong and hard about purchasing the A200s and still would if I could sell my A-70. I have only had it for less than two years. Current voltage is 100v since I live in Japan. I live in a small apartment, thus hardly pushed this amp. I purchased this amp directly from the manufacture in Yokohama where I met the team.

The Strads are very similar to the Ktemas in efficiency. Matter of fact I went to purchase the Strads while I lived in Italy from Audio Plus in San Benedentto. The owner advised me to listen to the Ktemas instead and I was sold.
