Derek... Modulated serial numbers can beat replication but not substitution. Manufacturer's need to incorporate passive digital DNA technology. Perhaps something akin to the microdot which is used by the motor vehicle industry.

I want to finish up by buying more Siltech, but this issue is always in the back of my head.

Thanks for sharing Bob, a well penned enjoyable read . I used to run an entire Valhalla loom with my now departed Jadis amps. There is a definite bleaching of tonal colors with the Valhalla and a lack of mid-bass energy . I believe things have been set straight with the Odins, but like you concluded it be worth only if the trickle down effect kicks in .

Bob....Surely you were tempted to keep them! What did you think of the Furutech Carbon/Rhodium Flux terminations BTW?

You have that right Steve. I wanted to keep them another week and play. It was just fun and a once in a audio lifetime great experience.

The cables themselves are eye candy. Extremely well made, gorgeous X 10 and the carbon fiber terminations are just lusting IMO.

As a side note, I understand to make one 2.5M PC; there is 4 times that in waste that is not accepted in the process of construction. Another reason why they are stratospherically priced.

Happy Holidays Folks,

Bob

Thanks for the feedback Bob, a very interesting review for me. I've lusted after WW's silver cable since 1995 & just achieved that so can't see the nordost happening full stop.

Great review Bob. This is the reason I try not to audition gear that I can't afford, but I'm not saying you can't afford the Odin's. Even after putting those great WW Platinum cables back in, those Odin's will always be that little devil sitting on your shoulder saying "hey buddy, remember how good I sounded? It's only money, you'll make more!"

Great write up...
And yet, you returned them....

Is there something else you are considering?

That devil always causes the boat to sink.

I’m going after the Odin SC’s Doug. Believe that makes sense considering.

Happy Holidays folks,

Bob

Thanks; glad to have documented my experience. It was fun & an opportunity. I had no alternative. Even though they weren’t marked “demo,” they were & Nordost doesn’t sell demo cables direct.

Happy Holidays Folks,

Bob
