Sorry about your GIK experience. I've ordered from them several times; six 244 panels and tricorners. Everything was perfect. I'm sure you'll get this worked out. Good luck.

For better or worse, I received no email response from them today (I was busy and couldn't actually call.)

I bought four gobos and four bass traps from GIK. I thought the finish was crude but serviceable. Fabrics are folded back on themselves which leaves a visible welt on the edges. There is no doubt they are built to meet a price point.

Against that, my products were delivered in good condition. That is, they didn't suffer any shipping damage and I think the actual performance of the panels is as advertised. They made a tremendous difference in the sound of my system. GIK provides an effective solution for those who want an off the shelf product that doesn't cost a premium. Based on the prices I didn't expect fine furniture when I ordered them but assumed they'd be sufficiently presentable to hang on the walls and would provide the absorption I needed in line with their specifications. I feel they delivered on that. They're simply constructed products priced to match. I\

I assume anything delivered with such obvious defects as the photos depict would be dealt with by replacement or refund at no cost to the consumer. If one is looking for good performance in line with low price, I think GIK is a good alternative but they're not a high style solution. One should buy them with that understanding. They are definitely designedsnd finished to work at a budget price. I have to agree that it would be very nice if the fit and finish was a little better, but I believe they are good value as long as you understand what they are and what they aren't. Like Pete, I'm sure a bit of communication with the factory will resolve the issues.

I'm not expecting fine furniture here, but the issue is we have ATS panels at my church and the difference in construction quality is pretty apparent.

At present I'd be happy to exchange everything but am a little afraid at what I'd get back.

That having been said, they do definitely work, so if you were putting them in a recording studio or doing a home theater that would always be darkened it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

My problem is my home theater/listening room is also my family room, so I would be walking past these things several times a day.

I'll see if I can talk directly to Glenn today.

Understood. I hope it didn't seem like I was lecturing you. From the photo, it's clear that the panel is not acceptable for even casual use. My application is just that (workmanlike), but it's still my best effort to create a balanced listening space. If they were going into my living room in a high visibility situation, I would likely feel as you do. Panels are hard to hide! I hoped to express that they are highly cost effective but their finish reflects that. That said, I've been very happy with the performance of my GIK products so for me they were the right solution.

I'm sure Glen will take care of you and I wouldn't be afraid to try again. What's to lose?

To bring this to a close, GIK did provide me with a FedEx call tag and I shipped the entire order back to them today (it's amazing how individuals have to pay more to ship two boxes of an order than I originally paid for shipping for all three to me, but I digress.)

Returning the Alphas on their dime for a refund, and returning the balance at my cost for a refund (about $135 to ship two 244s and one Tri-Trap back FedEx Ground.)

New order placed with ATS.

Bill.......That's how I would have handle it, too, especially the condition several panels were in when the arrived that was not shipping damage.

You should be more than satisfied with ATS. I certainly am pleased with their panels and traps. I'll continue to watch for your impressions once the ATS panels arrive.

I'll be happy to report back here as long as no one has an issue with it, as after all this is the GIK forum, not an ATS forum. :-)

ATS quoted me about two weeks (3-5 days manufacturing plus UPS shipping time.)
