New Genalex 12AX7GENGP Gold Pins (re-make of the famous B759)

Interesting re: the KT88. i can't remember how the batch I had a year or so ago tested.

I can verify that these Genalex re-issued 12AX7's test HOT like Sylvania's.

They are all pegged around 2000gm. Seem well constructed and well-balanced.

"I attach photos of the 12AU7,12AX7 and E88CC. If these are as good as the KT88/KT66 and EL84 reissues, then it is good news indeed for us to be able to buy new stock that approaches the quality of the famed Golden Age of 1950/1960's production.

How do you do?

do you replace all tubes or only half (the ones of a channel)?

I'm interesting in make a test suite with selected clips of 10-15 seconds of music. First i'll remix in mono, then burning into 3 tracks: one with only left channel, other with only right and third with two channels. Different tracks for various intruments, vocals, chorus, orchestra...

With differents tubes in each channel section will be easy detect accuracy, coloring, detail grades of both.

Has anyone done this experiment before?

Could be a risk for the amp if the tubes perfectly equivalents?

Thanks much m.tonetti -- didn't know they would be available so quickly. Will contact my dealer this morning & order 6 or so of the 12AT7GENGP's for the drivers in the MC2301's.

The 12AX7GENGP's that I have are a beautiful looking tube and currently have them in the MC phono slots in the C500T (too lazy or have been too lazy to slot others in the front porch).

Interesting experiment idea with different tubes on each side of a two channel amplifier. Keep us posted about your findings.

Bob.......I will be curious to hear your impression of the New Sensor Gold Lion 12AT7 tubes. I wonder if they will be as high output as your new Gold Lion 12AX7 tubes.

I picked up a set of the New Sensor Gold Lion 12AxT7 tubes, though I haven't installed them in the C500 yet. Currently have a set of Electro Harminoux in the Phono section, couldn't believe how much better they sounded compared to the crappy stock tubes!
