Default sunshdw's system

OK, so I'm a bit shy to post this because of the high caliber systems posted in here that I've been looking at so no laughing

Amp: Integra DTR30.5 - mainly got this because I needed HDMI switching. It's not to bad sonically and does a decent job.

Speakers: DIY Slot Ported Cabinets, Audio Nirvana Classic 6.5, Tymphany 1" Silk Dome xover at 1600HZ w/8ohm resistor, Internally wired with Transparent Audio 14/4 and pillow stuffing/insulation.

Subwoofer:
Episode Triple 10. Oddly, not a bad sub for both movies and music but it's no JL

Cabling is Transparent Audio Ultra MM2 and Audio Quest (for HDMI/USB)

HP Notebook has my ITunes (which is most all in wave format) and is HDMI to the Integra
The little white NAS drive (on top of the Integra) has all of my Hi-Res Flac stuff and is controlled via the Integra App.

Future Changes will be a matching Integra Bluray player for BD/DVD/CD playback, Add JRiver to my computer as well as a USB DAC to simplify things a bit and replace the TV to something from this century (GF's TV that she's had a long while before I moved in). I'll replace the speakers at some point (since the change to the Audio Nirvana from Fostex didn't improve what I was looking for) to a more conventional full range type like Golden Ear Triton 5 or something.

For what it is it's not to bad of a system, especially for the amount of money I have into it

Great system and nice cabinet work on your speakers. If you enjoy it and the music sings to you that's all that matters.

Thank you for sharing!
I started with DIY speakers myself, some 35 years ago.

Hey we all start somewhere ! Wasn't that long ago that I had a pair of used Maggies, a Audio Research SP6b/D79 and LP12. I enjoyed music on that system as well as I do today. Of course my current system sounds better....but that first system I was immensely fun.

I know you're cabling is great !! Congrats and glad you posted ! Happy Holidays to you !

I hear a lot of great things about Golden Ear. A co-worker has a pair of 2's and loves them. Nice Cables!!

I appreciate the kind words and yeah it's not to bad sounding. I had started with a Rotel Stack with B&W 683s then went to a tubed/solid state bi-amped set of Maggie's and a Sota Sapphire to this. After the Maggie set up I wanted to try something different and have always been interested in the single driver type set up. A guy I knew had these with the Fostex and gave them to me for free. Once I got them I added the tweeter, rewired them and added the stuffing/insulation.

I've had a few people listen to these and were very shocked how well they did, probably because they didn't expect how much and how well the sound comes out lolol

If any of you are in the Fresno, CA area and want a listen let me know!!

Very nice system, and thanks for sharing. Each one of our own systems means the world to us, and yours is no different!

Nice setup!! Enjoy the music is all the matters, I am sure what you have sounds pretty darn good.
My son and I drive thru Fresno on I-5 in June to a lacrosse camp in Whittier every year.....But I am pedal to the metal in that stretch of I-5, I find that CHiPs leave us alone, we are thru there

So stopping would be difficult....thanks for the offer.
