Thanks for the nudies.

Anatta,

Am I correct in assuming the 077 is on top and the 088 is below it?

Joe

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. I must admit, Burmester instruments are very elegant yet solid looking. I still can't believe how they can get all the virtues of tubes from solid state. The sound of human voices especially sound so real. I was going to listen to Peter Gabriel's, "Scratch My Back", for a few songs, and ended up listening to it 3x back-to-back. And the song, "The Power Of The Heart" has fast become the one I go to for goose-bumps. This music server is very interesting, and I can't wait to see the spec's and to hear it. Oh, and if anyone knows, are the dac modules the same for the 077, 088,089 and 069 the same?

"D/A converter module (optional), with S/P-DIF input (cinch) and USB slave
input, 069 DAC-technology with upsampling to 96kHz and 192kHz
selectable."

Have you the Technical Specifications and/or the Owner's Manual of 088 Preamplifier Burmester?

Thanks in advance.

From what I was told, the 099 dac/pre is the same as the 061 cd player. The internal dac for my 077 should be the same as the dac in the 089 cd player as well as the internal dac for the 088 preamp.

I don't think the 069 has any other equivalent, it seems to be in a class by itself.

The informations are extracted directly from the "Product Information Top Line 088 Preamplifier" of Burmester. The document is linked above.

Massimo,

I stand corrected! Wow! Thank you. Do you think then the dac for the 077 is also 069 technology?

Joe

I can't find English pdf versions of their gear like the 088 you posted, any more?

Joe,

from the "Product Information Reference Line 077 Preamplifier" of Burmester:

"DA converter module (upsampling technology of the 069)".

The document is linked below.

Thank you Massimo,

I went to your Italian website and downloaded all the pdf's of the gear I am interested in. Even the 909 - OMG! That thing is beautiful. It's funny, for the 077 dac module they say "upsampling technology" from the 069. That does not give me the confidence to believe that the dacs from the module are 069 quality - just the upsampling technology. Oh well. That just means I'll have to get either the 069 or 111
