I never heard the Krell Evo but I can attest these have some SERIOUS power...Incredible control and dynamics. But really, the needles were barely moving, while the Alexx was LOUD. Must have good sensitivity specs.

Honestly I would love to have a budget that fits the Alexx and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

It really is an incredible speaker. I've heard the XLF before, and it's right up there.

But the Alexx is the first really "new" big Wilson with all new drivers. The XLF has woofers that are left over from another era. The Alexx is based on WAMM technology. The higher tweeter crossover does open the door to a Be tweeter. I wonder if the WAMM will arrive with a metal dome tweeter? However, there is nothing inherently inferior to a soft dome when compared to a metal dome. I'm not at all opposed to soft domes. All in all the Alexx looks like the perfect speaker for me. If I am ever going to buy my final speaker it will be the Alexx. |

The only thing I don't like about the Alexx is the mail slot. If you look closely at the pics I posted, they used the rear port and created a special placard for the front one. That's not going to be standard from what I heard from Peter. He said they are still working out options for that plate, including cabinet colored ones. |

Marc, you called the front port the "mail slot". What do you mean by that? I hope that by the time I might seriously consider an Alexx this detail will be worked out. I would have preferred a rear port. I think the front port is a frill. The vast majority will use the rear. Why? Because truth be known, folks, though they may deny it, like the most bass especially if it is of high quality. And Wilson bass is of extremely high quality.
