Gratalf.......I think you are a bit off base thinking there was any issue with McIntosh, when in fact it was the McIntosh factory that helped you identify the issue created by your dealer selling you a MA6600 they didn't have a right to sell. That was a dealer issue from start to finish and fortunately ended with you getting a good deal on a brand new MA6600 with a discounted price. So the thread title is misdirected. What you're really miffed about is your Panasonic dealer, who is also your stereo dealer. The dealer has not been courteous or expedient solving issues with your new Panasonic plasma TV purchase, although it sounds like when the VT60 arrives you should be satisfied with the latest model for last year's model price, providing of course that the new plasma has no defects. Your thread title should really be "My Panasonic dealer experience......Not a very good one" In my humble opinion, there is no reason to lump McIntosh's good name into the thread title of this fiasco over a television. I would be happy to adjust the thread title for you and move this thread to the proper General Audio Discussion forum.

To the contrary, this is my Mcintosh Dealer, and not Mcintosh. I think the title is perfect, and the only reason I never commented sooner on the MA6600 experience, was to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now, when I am less than 1 year away from buying my MCD301, where do you think I should go - to my Panasonic dealer?

I would be insulted if you adjusted the title in any way or moved my post. If you can see, this is my Mcintosh Dealer who i decided to buy a Panasonic product from. I can go anywhere for Panasonics, not the case for my Mcintosh equipment. The way I have been treated overall is whats at question, by my "Mcintosh Dealer".

Grayalf... Your post is incorrectly titled, and has nothing to do with McIntosh.

Well I think it does when this is my only dealer for my Mcintosh equipment for over 200 miles! Where do you recommend I shop for my next Mac purchase, because it will not be at XXX! That said, I respect your website and all the members here.

Grayalf.......Good thing this dealer is not also your only source for condoms in 200 miles. I guess the thread title would then read "My Trojan dealer experience - Not a very good one."

Sounds about right. If they cornered the Trojan market there would be a lot more STDs!

Regardless of the title and the focus, the dealer sucks. Imagine asking for a restocking fee of 20% to return a defective TV!

Sorry for your troubles.

I think the solution to the title concern and to avoid bashing the branding for either McIntosh or Panasonic is "My Audio Video Dealer Experience - Not A Good One" given that the dealer is playing tricks and the mfgr's are not.
