Bmw
Another first world problem -
I drive a humble BMW and it plays music just fine from a hard drive. No artwork display though (and to think I was satisfied to this point). Reading this thread I must assume that all Porsche, Mercedes, and Audi drivers are perusing their album artwork while driving???!! Those German cars....

The album art is quirky. I got the greyed-out song to play without wiping the card and starting over so that's a plus. The SD card in my PC played the greyed-out song with no issue. I saw the index file which I forgot the name of and deleted it. When I put it back into the PCM it reindexed my SD card and the grey-out song now plays normal. |

Reading each album text takes my eyes off the road longer than seeing an image and instantly recognizing it. |

Mouse - that is actually a very good point re: recognition of album art.

In my former 991 Burmester system, AIFF files played perfectly with meta data. I used XLD to convert some files.

Check with your dealer and ask about any software updates for the vehicle (infotainment system).
