I view online vehicle history reports with a great degree of skepticism- however good or bad the report may be. Individual circumstances, incidents are so varied and unique and broadbrushing these "events" is often misleading
I have seen cars that have obviously been in a severe accident with repairs very poorly done that got clean bill form CarFax to near perfect originals that have been involved in some extremely minor incident of little or no consequence that unfortunately have received a black eye from CarFax. My view is that these car history agencies do no real service to the consumer while charging exorbitant fees for doing so and in some cases providing a false sense of security. There is no substitute for an in-person examination & inspection. At any rate, I will be most interested in seeing how this works out for the OP. |

very late to this thread but you can check here to see what is associated with a cars history. It's free, just need the VIN. Good luck.

I gave up after maybe 10 follow ups with the CarFax Rep, but the story has a happy ending...traded in the BMW for a new 4Runner, the dealer didn't care about the report.
