Bookshelf Speaker Options for MA12000
I recently ordered the MA12000 to simplify and downsize my system. Now I'm looking to downsize from my Wilson Yvette's to something smaller as this system will be moving to a smaller home in the near future. I have an opportunity to buy the Sonus Faber Guarneri Tradition or the Raidho TD1.2 and not sure which to choose. I love the look of the Sonus Faber including the stands. If I buy the Raidho's, I wouldn't buy the stands as I don't care for the look, and I've read they are unstable. Thoughts?

Both awesome speakers. I understand your hesitation on the Raidho stands, but what would you use in their stead?
Any thoughts on Tune Tots?

I would go with the Sonus Fabers. The Guarneri Traditions are gorgeous speakers and they are perfect matches for McIntosh amps especially since they are owned by the same company.

The Dynaudio 20 stands are supposed to work well. The more I think about it, I would probably try the matching stands. I considered the TuneTots but kind of concerned they only go down to 65Hz vs 40Hz of the others. I agree, I can’t go wrong with either.

I’ve been told the Raidho’s are neutral and would pair well with the McIntosh. Although, I can’t find much online confirming they are a good pairing. I’m leaning toward the Guarneri’s as I know they will sound great with the Mc gear. That was my first pick.

The McIntosh MA12000 is a premium luxury product, so is Sonus faber.

I ABSOLUTELY love my McIntosh XR50's... they sound 5 times their size... They might be "book shelf" but they're 300w, and 3-way... and designed to work with McIntosh is a big plus.
You can click on the link below (in my signature block) to a video of my system, and hear them for the first minute of the video... of course the Youtube compression and. your computer speakers will not do them justice but you'll get the idea. Last edited by SAM992; 11-27-2020 at 12:34 AM. |

In the price range that you're looking at, I'd check out the Focal Diablo Utopia Colour Evo. Unlike Sonus Faber, Focal designs and makes their own high tech drivers in house.

Good pick! I emailed Upscale Audio yesterday about the Diablo EVO’s. I had Sopra 2’s at one time and really enjoyed them. They also pair nicely with McIntosh.

Newest Sonus faber speaker drivers are designed and made in-house. Their speaker design is focused on the mid-range originally started in the Aida and now passed down to lower models.
