Tom, so really I shouldn't be too worried about break in then. With the 601's it took less time vs the MC452 I owned. But still maybe around the 100 hour mark? maybe less on the 601 before it really became glorious.

This is my first ever tube amp. I've owned 2 tube preamps. C2600 and the C1100 now.

I’ve had two pair of these and both pair were pretty settled in by 50 hours and done by 100 hours or so. It takes about 20 minutes after turn for them to sound their best.

Thanks Tom....I have about 90 hours so far (if in fact I received them with 45)..

But I can already hear a difference. I find myself sitting down and smiling. Also breaking in a new Nordost Odin 2 Power cable. I may place that in the media room to speed up that process.

How many hours do you guys typically get before needing to replace the tubes on the MC2301s?

Default MC2301 Club

I get well over 5000 hours out of the KT-88’s - I ran one set to 8000 hours but that was pushing it. I get a bit less out of the 12AT7’s but the set I am running now is fine after 4000 hours.

These amps are easy on tubes.
