With regard to similar priced cables from other companies, it has been my experience that performance differences can be small or large, and are not necessarily governed by the price. I have used several different manufacturer's interconnects from companies like Cardas, Canare, Tributaries, and Wireworld. Every cable had its particular sonic signature. I settled on the Tributaries Silver Series for years, and was quite happy until I made some comparisons to Wireworld Silver Eclipse 6.0 interconnects. The Tributaries compared favorably to Wireworld, and I still use them in my home theater system, but the Wireworld Silver Eclipse offers better transparency in my opinion, not to mention they are three times the cost of the Tributaries Silver Series. Ultimately it comes down to what type of sound piques your involvement with your sound system and the music you enjoy, and what price point you hope to maintain.

I agree with Randy about the 200 hours. For the first 50, I thought they were a bit bright and somewhat thin. By 100 I was impressed and at 200 it was nothing but music. Thanks for the great review Dan.

Howard, I totally agree with your comments. I felt that same feeling of satistfaction when Dan reviewed his 601's and C2300. Dan in his speaker cable shoot out has also interduced me to some new music to check out. I really like how he points out to the reader what part of the music to listen for and what it should sound like when everything is right. Dan I didn't price compare the two cables and I didn't really known how your shootout would turn out. Thanks for a great review. Now I have to figure out how to come up with a pair of Wireworld cables.

Charles.......The Kimber 8TC has an aggregate 9 gauge for each of the positive and negative leads. The 12TC has an aggregate 8 gauge for each of the positive and negative leads, so I suspect other than a miniscule lower cable resistance, the 12TC will essentially perform in the same ballpark.
