BIG amplifier, but with little interest at AA? Curious about price setting for European market.

I got to see and listen to the 7300 in Yokohama three weeks ago. Priced close the A-70. Sorry, but i like my class A A-70.

What is it about the P-7300 that you didn't quite like, Harris? Could you elaborate just a bit.

To be honest with you I only listened for about 10 min. The Accuphase rep was coming the next day and I would have been able to evaluate better. I feel for my speakers, a Class A is ideal with its warm sound. The 7300 will no doubt run my low efficient speaker, but will lack the class A sound. The A-70 has plenty of power and I do not need a A/B speaker. Plainly the 7300 is a great amp, but it did not give me enough to change what I have, but no doubt it will be a great amp for any speaker. Poor detailed answer, I know. If you like any of the big A/B amps than I have no doubt you will like the 7300 since it probably did not change much.

[QUOTE="Harris4crna;753245"] To be honest with you I only listened for about 10 min. The Accuphase rep was coming the next day and I would have been able to evaluate better. I feel for my speakers respond better to a Class A amp. With that said, the 7300 is a great amp and will power and speaker with clarity. Here are a few of the details comparing the 7300 to 7100:

P-7300 is up-to-date power amp. What is the progress here?
P-7300 vs P-7100:
- 2 pairs per channel of large speaker terminals are useful for a bi-wiring connection;
- 14.6 kg toroidal power transformer with aluminum heat-radiation fins and specially developed for hybrid electric vehicles 2 x 56,000μF special capacitors;
- high-power Class AB amplifier delivers rated output power 125W/8Ω, 800W/1Ω;
- P-7300 achieves 12 μV of actual output noise voltage. This is less than half of the former model P-7100;
- output noise voltage is ideally decreased to 33%;
- P-7300 employed MOS-FET switch instead of mechanical relay for speaker protection. P-7300 achieves 1000 of Damping-Factor. This is over 3.3 times higher than the former model P-7100;
- also Total Harmonic Distortion and Intermodulation Distortion get better by Balanced Remote-sensing.

Accuphase will build amplifiers to their customer's loyalty. Some prefer Class A, some prefer Class AB it's a matter of choice.

Were I live, Class A in the summer/spring/fall is out of the question, just not going to happen. I've had Class AB from Accuphase since 1987, so will stay with that topology, it's what I'm used to, like it a lot.
