Red face mcintosh with dare i say RED lights

how would you react if mcintosh put out instead of those lushes blue back lights, if it was RED. or even old school green. Would you still feel the same about the wow factor? Just think how things could of turned out, if they just went with a different back light color.

Part of what keeps McIntosh so unique is how the appearance really does not change that much over time- only the inside parts change to keep pace with technology.
Everything seems to match, whether 30 years ago or current stuff. Just my opinion.

For me I think this is one of those - if it ain't broke don't fix it.

McIntosh in red - wouldn't be the same

i agree, that was my point, though if they at first came out with red back lights would you still feel the same? would you be so attatched to the red, that the thought of blue would cause you to scream? justs gets you thinking, that way back then, a simple choice of blue, took them to a huge place in history/ would they be in the same spot with a differnt color?

Red is so much more dramatic than a nice soothing blue. It may turn off a lot of people; or it may turn them on: look at my avatar...

Red meters? I for one would be scared sh*tless sitting in the dark with those red eyes looking back at me. Can you say Amytiville Horror?

Somehow, I just don't think it would work.

Dan, maybe that's what they looked like to some listeners in the psychedelic 60s?
