I have also owned the F-05. It’s a great, full featured integrated that is reasonably priced. It does not sound “tube like” but for a SS integrated, it is very dynamic and presents a sound signature that is very slightly to the warm side of neutral. It’s built like a tank and the packaging is amongst the best in the industry.
GreginNH1, thank you for the information. No, aside from two bad tubes, the amp itself has been reliable. I'd just like to be able to leave my amp on all day--that would be the main benefit. Of course, for the large outlay of extra money, I could buy a lot of tubes! I need to do some more soul-searching.

When I was a tube-o-phile (until earlier this year), did so for about a year. In the end decided it was quite wasteful of both money & power. Accepted the 20-30min of warm-up as just part of listening. Do leave my solid-state gear on 24/7 unless will be away for more than 24hr.

I was referring to leaving on a solid state amp all day, not my current Primaluna.

If class A just insure it is playing some music. Its hottest state is idling. Class AB is fine.

As Formerly YB-2 states, if you want to leave an amp on all the time, AB would be the way to go. Not sure if I would ever keep a Class A amp on all the time.

The F-05 is class AB. Anyway, it's a moot point as I went with a McIntosh MA9000! Don't worry, though: I still love my K-03 SACD player!

Congrats on your MA9000. Guess the 71 pounds of the F-05 simply wasn't enough weight. The additional 30 pounds will help keep your rack from floating away, as well the 2.5X more power.

I won't know until it arrives in about 2 weeks.

New gear is always fun. Waiting for it to arrive is not.

Not at all for us impatient folks, and time becomes glacial on delivery day!
