I must admit that I'm impressed by it. It is much cleaner and precise than the DP67 (which is no slouch). I need to try some HD tracks now and look at the mk2 upgrade.
I had a MKI and now have a MKII. The difference is very substantial for a mild cost. Anyone else who has owned both may be able to confirm this. The only question now is how the Directstream compares to the MKII.

Here are some details on the main pieces.

First, the Avid Volvere with Rega RB300 and Cadenza Blue cart. I plan to upgrade the arm to a SME V pretty soon (Ivan expect a PM ) and I'll surely upgrade the Volvere to a Sequel SP in the next 12 months.

I don't need to introduce the Manley !

And the newest addition, the accuphase C2110. A great looking and sounding preamp with the phono card so I can save a box and cable I haven't made direct comparison to the E360 but that you should expect one soon.

My new toys

First, 5 Electra PC + a connector for the Mac Mini.

So far I've used them on the Manley and the C2110. I'm very impressed, there is added dynamism and better musicality. When the P5 comes back from repair, I'll be able to demo them in more details.

NOS Winged C EL34, still in their boxes as I haven't had the chance to install them. Many claims they are the best EL34 you can find.

And to finish it all, the overall view of the system

PS: all the pictures are taken with the iPhone. I'll take the big camera out and make some better pictures next time

I almost ordered the MKII upgrade a week before the announcement of the DirectStream.

I'll save a little bit and go straight to the DSD

Wooaaww...

Wonderful setup very well thought.

What is the Avid's mat made of? Are the Avid's feet brushed or polished aluminum?

The pics do not justice to the gear I guess.

Congrats Georges.

Thank you Jean-Marc

The mat is made out of cork and it is glued to the platter. The feet are made out of steel which are then painted. The table is 13kg and the platter is almost 7kg.

The Volvere and Sequel are only in black or silver. The chrome is only available at the Acutus SP level (c. 15k€) and above.

The black one would look great in your system
