Default Georges (aka Antipop) System

Hi all,

On top of the pics I've posted when I received my Elipsa Red, here are a couple more showing the whole system.

The most recent change are the marble slate under the Elipsa which have greatly added to the sound of the system (and it makes moving the speaker much easier).

I know what I'd like to change but I'm still unsure of the correct way to go.

The main things are :
1. Add some room correction (at least some bass traps behind the speakers)
2. Improve the analog rig: new arm (SME V) and later a Sequel SP upgrade
3. Improve the digital rig: either a DAC or the DP-550
4. New cables: most likely full silver Wireworld with time
5. Misc: an RCM, SSD upgrade for the Mac Mini, linear alim for the Oppo,...

I believe the most important is to work on the room acoustic. I've already toyed with the idea and I got a quote from GIK but I didn't go ahead as it is my living room as well. Since I've seen Ivan's Cape house and he showed that you can integrate the panels in a clean way.

The idea is to put two bass trap in the front corners in green (GIK has a color close to my wall colour). Two panels on the side wall, two panels as well on the back wall and maybe a couple of panels on the ceiling.

Thank you all, that means a lot to me.

I'm more than happy with the Accuphase amp and this is the last piece I'll want to change. Since I have a small room and the Elipsa are easy to drive, the 360 is more than enough for my needs. This is a very dynamic amp and it makes the Elipsa sing

Georges....You have a great rig. Agree, that some further room treatment is in order. Perhaps something to slip over your screen during critical 2ch listening. You would be amazed at what a beach towel will do.

Panels/traps for the corners & back wall. GIK or Vicoustic.

Thank you Steve,

I'm going with GIK for the room treatment.

The plan is to put 2 tri-trap in each front corner with scatter plates
One bass trap 244 on the side wall and 2 on the ceiling
Two Monster bass trap on the back wall with scatter plates

I only need to push the button but I need to pick the color first.
*Girl mode on*
I'm hesitating between the tri-trap in the same color as the wall or in a complementary color (maybe use the colors of the curtains). Bass trap on the ceiling will be white, but I'm thinking of adding some color on the side wall. Back wall will be white since they will be hidden in the doors.
