Default Too good to be true?
I bought a set of Ultra mini's and Ultra SS with base, just to play around with and see what all the hype was about.

Honestly, I didn't think this would do anything.
It smells like high cost voodoo mambo jambo TBH!

Ultra SS under the amp, and mini's under my streamer (which is lightweight) and placed a brick on top of it to add some weight.

Well, sadly for my wallet they make a big positive difference.
Crap, this is going to cost me for adding more.
My first impression is that everything is "tighter", especially in the bass region.

I wonder what the Ultra 5's will do under my speakers...........shame they are so expensive.

These are highly recommended from a sceptic!

PS: I read that the best thing is to mount them (SS ultra) into the screw-hole where the old feet was, to replace them?
They didn't fit, so I had to place them directly under the chassis of my amp.
This is not optimal? Even though it rocks

You need the proper adapters to thread them on your speaker.

I have U5 under everything and threaded into the bases of my Revel's. Superb.

Depending on the make of your speaker you'll need specific sizes of threaded inserts. Contact Ivan (Masterlu) above for help. He got mine pretty quick.

When I put Ultra 5s under my Wilson Sophia 2s (using thread adaptors), it was like a significant speaker upgrade.

I am flat out stunned listening to my Wilson Sophia 3 with Ultra 5s replacing SS/bases. Wow. I implore anyone thinking about SS under speakers to stretch to U5 and be done with it. Wilson and Stillpoints are a match made in audio heaven. Manna baby!!!!

I've played around a bit more, and actually I have to say that I do not like the sound of still points ultra SS under my amp in my system.

First it felt like everything was tighter, and indeed it was, but the mid bass got a small hollow "thump" to it with the ultra SS's.
After moving the speakers around 8 times yesterday with no success, I replaced the Ultra SS with Ultra minis.

Much better with mini's at the moment.

I have a bunch of more Mini's incoming to play around with.
Goes to show its no easy one fix solution, and experimenting with it is key.
Will try again SS ultra under the amp when I can float the entire system at once.

This is something that I've been curious about. I'm really not too keen on setting additional feet under my components in addition to the stock factory feet...thereby raising up the component (with its factory feet) slightly (or more than slightly). I don't care for this idea for a number of reasons.

Ivan...is there a Stillpoint option that would allow me to mount the isolators directly in place of the factory feet on my MCD1000/MDA1000 units?

Pete... you just know the answer is yes! Not the Mini's but the Ultra SS feet can be attached with the correct threaded adapters.
