Sonus faber Cremona Auditors Arrived
Wow! The SF Cremona Auditors are beauties. The were scheduled for a Wednesday delivery, but FedEx showed up with them today. The stand legs arrived also, but the plinths and the top plates for the stands that bolt to the bottom of the speakers did not arrive, so it looks like I will not be able to set these gorgeaous speakers up until tomorrow.
The build quality is amazing. The solid maple cabinets are extremely rigid and inert when rapped with a knuckle. Very nice. The graphite finish is quite attractive, as well, and will blend with my studio nicely. The speakers are in immaculate condition, not a scratch or blemish anyhwere. I am please. I may try setting them on a pair of Bello stands I have this evening, and give them a listen. The Bello stands are taller (36") than the Sonus Faber stands (25"), so I won't even try to figure out where the best placement will be since all of that will change once the Cremona Auditors are attached to their own stands. More to follow.

Congrats Dan. I am sure you will enjoy them. The "lute" shape of the SF speakers is created on purpose to break up internal standing waves. You will find that once you bolt the cabinets to their dedicated stands, there is barely any vibration of the cabinet what so ever. What little there is, was probably designed in as part of the sonic signature of the cabinet, sort of "symbiotic resonance". You can surely appreciate that when listening to acoustic stringed instruments, they sound very sweet.
