Default Elipsa SE For Me?

I've been thinking about changing my B&W Signature Diamond speakers for something with a smoother more forgiving sound for a while, could the Elipsa SE be the speaker for me?

My dealer just called me, he has a buyer for my speakers (not the best price but an easy transaction) this helps with the deal getting into some new speakers. He has a set of Elipsa SE speakers coming that I should be able to hear in about 2 weeks.

I guess my first question is will my 75 watt McIntosh tube amps be enough for these speakers? I usually don't listen very loud (70-85db) but my room is heavily treated and about 26x19, I'm thinking 75 watts will be enough.

Anyone have any experience with the Elipsa SEs they can share with me?

Do you have more than one amp?

75 watts is generally not enough for Elipsa SE. In your case the listening level works for you and a heavily treated room works against, power wise. Need more info. Pics of the room perhaps?

They are 75 watt mono blocks. To give you an idea the volume I listen at, I'm always below 1/2 volume on my preamp with my B&W speakers and usually about 10 o'clock.

Sounds like it might work so far. What kind of music do you listen to? Favorite artists?

Here's some pics of the room. As you can see I have the system setup on the long 26 foot wall a little off center, about 8 feet between the speakers, 8 feet from to the right wall, 10 feet to the left wall and speakers 4 feet from the front wall. The back of the room is open at a hall and the kitchen. There are 20 2'x4'x4" panels and 8 8' half round bass traps.

As for music, it's a big variety from soft jazz like Gets/Gilberto to bop Miles Davis to acoustic rock like Cat Stevens to classic rock like The Who Tommy, basically everything except rap or opera.

Here is a start for you: Sumiko Audio : Sonus faber

As near as I can tell the Elipsa SE is basically a slightly smaller Stradivari.

Thanks, those are GIK Art Panels: GIK ArtPanel™. GIK Acoustics. Acoustic Panels and Bass Traps.

Just took some quick pics with my phone to show the room layout, I thought they would turn out better.
